I am a Professional crochet artist and designer, grandmother of eight and "reborn doll" artist.
I have had many of my crochet designs published in craft magazines over the years and I still love to design originals for customers. I started publishing my designs after crocheting for about 30 years without using patterns because I simply hated following patterns. So, I just made up my own designs as I crocheted. Finally, I decided I better start writing down what I was doing, so I could do it again sometime. THEN, it was suggested to me that I should submit some of my designs to craft magazines and the rest, as they say, is history.
I'm also a grandmother of eight wonderful grandchildren. They have brought much love & joy into my life over the years and I love them all dearly. If only they lived closer to us now, but that does make the time together more special.
About five years ago I discovered "reborn babies" on E-bay and purchased one I absolutely fell in love with. When I received her, I couldn't believe how real she looked and the more I looked at her, the more I thought to myself, I HAVE TO LEARN THIS ART!!! So, I ventured out to purchase an inexpensive doll to learn on and fell in love with the art. Now, some five years later, I've had my reborn babies go to live all over the US, New Zealand, Australia and other countries around the world.

This little girl is now living in New Zealand with many brothers & sisters. She is being spoiled rotten.
I especially love creating the special "Portrait" or "Custom" reborns for people. Customers send me portraits of their baby, grandbaby, or other special child and I hunt until I find a doll or doll kit that matches that child's face, then set to work with special permanent Heat Set artist paints to achieve the closest match to the child's photo, then give the doll a new cloth body, weighed to specific weight and give it micro rooted angora mohair to match. The baby doll has to pass my strict inspection and the customer's inspection before it is ever sent on it's journey to it's new mommy.
